REVIVE Project

Project Restoring Livelihoods of tsunami affected persons through Enterprise Support (REVIVE) Project

 

 

SEEDS has gained Rs. 10.2 millions from USAID as a grant with targeting the affected people in six most worst affected districts, Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Ampara, Trincomalee and Batticaloa. In this project SEEDS focusing a quite different target group in which tsunami affected people in the neighboring areas of tsunami disaster and expected to revive their livelihoods. It includes people who lost their employment as the business or industries they were working were affected by tsunami and were closed, people who were having their business and enterprises outside the tsunami area but were doing transactions in tsunami areas and enterprises and business ventures who lost their market connections due to tsunami.


Restoring livelihoods of affected people, this aims to empower the people, develop them economically and achieve self sustainability and after impact and need assessment, SEEDS provided tailor-made Business development, Entrepreneurship development, market linkages and other necessary assistance by way of credit or grant under the program within three to six months period with a view to upgrading the level of families from the present to the original positions after identification of socio-economic needs through the base-line surveys.
