IFAD Livelihood Project

IFAD funded Coastal community livelihood restoration project

 

 

This initiative is to deliberately provide the services with hands of objective to develop the livelihoods of coastal communities affected by Tsunami in Ampara District in later the 2007. This is to target poor community members and micro-enterprises affected by Tsunami devastation. SEEDS will create the awareness, mobilize society, and then provide livelihood developments. To provide business development services, nuclei will be planned to form through group formulations. Then, through the capacity building trainings, poor and existing entrepreneurs will be trained to create income generating projects adopted by the targeted community itself.


To create business conductive environment, different Business Development Services (BDS) such as establishing an enterprise promotional centre in Ampara, holding business clinics, establishing sales outlets, creating marketing linkages and marketing management trainings. Micro credit and material capital facilities are planned to provide through the Resources Centers under the SEEDS. Capacity building will be consisting of institutional development, entrepreneurship development, house hold financial management, business management trainings and vocational trainings. Introduction of new technologies such as Organic farming with EM, Bio gas production, Eco-tourism and etc will also be planned to carry out. This will be ended in 2009.
